Tantallon House bed and breakfast accommodation, located on the border of Cumbria and Northumberland, overlooks the longest unbroken stretch of Hadrian's Wall. We offer a peaceful getaway spot and an ideal gateway to the many places of interest in this area.Our spacious Victorian country property stands on a hill overlooking the Irthing Valley, on the edge of the Northumberland National Park. Our two south-facing twin rooms are comfortable, light and spacious, with spectacular views. We have two twin rooms, one en-ensuite, one with a private bathroom, car parking, wireless internet, freeview television in rooms, a hearty breakfast sourced from local produce. We also have a pet owl called hoot who is very popular with guests. We are happy to advise guests on all the local attractions and walking routes in the area. Directions
By CarFrom the East - On the A69 once past Halwhistle, take the B6318 signposted Gilsand and Greenhead. At the crossroads continue straight over. As you enter the village of Gilsland go under the railway bridge and turn right at the T Junction at the Bridge Inn pub. Take the next left after the bridge signposted Birdoswald. Tantallon House is 200m on the right hand side. From the West - From the A69 take the minor road signposted Denton, Gilsland and Birdoswald. Cross the railway line and continue into the village. Bear left at the T Junction by the Bridge Inn pub. Cross over the bridge and take the next left signed for Birdoswald. Tantallon House is 200m on the right hand side. Customer Reviews
