Originating in the United Kingdom, a bed and breakfast property, also known as a B&B, is a property offering bed accommodation, along with a typically home cooked breakfast.

Bed and breakfasts are generally private homes, or public houses, with a small number of bedrooms available.

Staying at a B&B generally offers a more personal service, one where you are made to feel more at home than your average commercial hotel.

Bed and breakfasts exist in large numbers across the United Kingdom, and indeed worldwide, proving extremely popular with their guests.

The advantage of bed and breakfast accommodation is being able to provide a place to stay in locations where a commercial hotel wouldn't be able to survive.
